MONDAY JULY 12 – Overnight Flight
You must be at DFW airport by 3:00 pm for our flight that leaves at 5:12 pm. If you are departing from another city, you must arrive in Atlanta no later than 8:00 pm to join us on our flight to Israel.
TUESDAY JULY 13 – Arrive in Israel
Upon arrival in Israel this afternoon, we will be met by our local representative and our incredible English-speaking Guide and begin our exploration of the land of promise. We will immediately go up to Jerusalem where we will overlook the city from Mount Scopus and will pray the Shehechiyanu Prayer as is the tradition for arriving in this holy city. We will worship the L-rd in celebration before we check into our lovely hotel and get an early night’s sleep.
WEDNESDAY JULY 14 – The Galilee
This morning, we will drive up to the Galilee. We will work our way around the Sea to experience the places where Y’shua’s ministry flourished. From Capernaum, His headquarters, we will go visit the Mount of Beatitudes and will consider His message to His talmidim there. We will see anancient fishing boat taken from the mud of the shore. Then, we will ride a wooden boat across the Sea that He calmed with His word and will see where He cast the demons into the pigs who went off into the water! Then, we will go down into the Jordan River where you may renew your Baptismal vows before we go up into the Golan Heights where we will overlook four nations and pray in Caesarea Philippi, the place where ministry of Y’shua turned toward His death in Jerusalem. Then, we will enjoy a dinner beside the Sea of St. Peter’s Fish before we drive back to our home in Jerusalem.
THURSDAY JULY 15 – The Coast
This morning, we will leave the City of Peace and will drive to the Mediterranean coast where our first stop will be the very room where a nation was born in a day. In Caesarea we will walk the very streets where Cornelius’ family lived and where they became the first Gentiles to enter the Kingdom of G-d. There too we will see the amazing city of Herod’s “Beach Town” where Paul was held before being sent to Rome to stand trial. We will have lunch in the town where Rabbi Marty & Carol lived for four years before we go to the place where Elijah defeated the prophets of Ba’al. Then, we will go to Megiddo, the site of over 20 cities, one on top of the other and the place where the final battle will be fought. After dinner back in Jerusalem, we will meet with a Member of the Israeli government who will tell us what is really happening and what we should pray for.
FRIDAY JULY 16– Walking in the Footsteps of Y’shua
This morning, we will begin our day on the Mount of Olives where we will view the city of Peace and will get an idea of our travels over this time in the City of Gold. We will walk down the roadway that Y’shua would have known well as He entered the city year after year and will walk past and through the Garden of Gethsemane where we will pause to pray. We will visit the place most likely to have been the actual Upper Room, rather than the place that most tourists are taken to see. Then, we will go to the place where Y’shua probably spent His last night imprisoned in a dungeon at Caiaphas’ house on Mount Zion. We will visit the Davidson Archeological Center before we stand on the Southern Steps that Y’shua would have tread on His ascent to the Temple Mount.
And we will join with hundreds who will be praying at the Western Wall. Then, we will go to welcome the Shabbat with the people of For Zion’s Sake, a community of faith in Jerusalem that support.
SATURDAY JULY 17- Shabbat in Jerusalem
It is Shabbat and we will join with Jerusalemites in the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem. The service will, of course, be in Hebrew, but the Spirit of the G-d of Israel will fill the room and your heart. We will spend the day in rest, walking around the city and absorbing the feel of Shabbat.
SUNDAY JULY 18 - The Old City
Today, we will return to the Old City, especially the Jewish Quarter. We will visit the Temple Institute and see the preparations being made for the rebuilding of the Holy Temple. We will explore the colorful bazaars that lead to the Temple area and we will pray at the Western Wall with people from around the world. We will stand on the very steps that Y’shua walked to enter the Temple and will see where 3000 were baptized in one day. We will visit the headquarters of Christian Friends of Israel, a most important ministry that touches the lives of thousands of
Israelis every year with the love of Messiah, which we support. This evening, we will have a visit from a couple who have been serving in Israel for many years.
MONDAY JULY 19- Ancient Jerusalem
The City of David is the most recent archeological discovery in Jerusalem and one that will mark your heart with history and with passion. We will actually be part of the discovery of ancient
artifacts from the Second Temple as we dig in the materiel that was just discarded by Muslims building a mosque below the Temple Mount. Then, we will go to the Western Wall for a time of prayer before we walk along the first century roadway around the Temple Mount in the Rabbi’s Tunnel that is under the Muslim Quarter of the Old City. At the Cardo, a Byzantine street that is now the oldest shopping arcade in the world, we will shop and explore the feel of the Old and the Renewed City. Hurva Square, the central square of the Jewish Quarter, is the place where we will meet with two men who will close their shop (Shorashim) just to answer your questions about what Jewish people believe and why they don’t believe as we do. And we will walk through the 2,000-year old Herodian Mansions in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City.
After dinner, we will gather with thousands for the Tisha B’Av march around the walls of ancient Jerusalem to declare “Har HaBeit Shelanu” (the Temple Mount is ours.)
TUESDAY JULY 20 –The Desert Blossoms
This morning, we will drive deep into the dessert to Avdat where we will explore the ancient cave city. Along the way, we will stop to plant trees in the soil of the Land of Israel with our own hands to leave a part of ourselves here to grow and to blossom. We will then go to Arad where a Messianic community has suffered much persecution by the Orthodox, but has thrived. We will worship there with Rivka Whitten along with most of the Messianic community there.
WEDNESDAY 21 – The Desert & the Dead Sea
This morning, we will drive into the Judean desert where we will consider how Israel survived forty years in this wilderness. We will then see where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found at
Qumran and discover that much more has been found there in recent years. A cable car will take us to the top of Masada to save us a very steep climb to the fortress. There we will walk among the Roman palaces, store houses and bath house, and the Jewish synagogues which
witnessed the Jewish resistance to the Romans approximately 2000 years ago. Then, we will drive to the lowest point on the earth where you will enjoy playing in the mud like you haven’t since you were a child. And then, you can wash it off as you float in the Dead Sea.
Tonight, we will enjoy our dinner under the stars with Father Abraham at Genesis Land.
THURSDAY JULY 22–Our Last Day in Jerusalem
Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial, will stir you like nowhere on earth. From there we will go to the Shrine of the Book and see evidence of the consistency of the Hebrew scripture. We will share communion at the Garden Tomb before we take some time for shopping before we have our last supper together in the land and leave Jerusalem,. We will arrive in Atlanta at 5:50 am and will be back at DFW around 10:10 am.
